Steamship Frithiof
This classic Stockholm profile was built in 1897 at Södra varvet in Stockholm as a passenger boat between Nybroviken and Djurgården for the great World Exhibition that would consolidate Sweden’s position as one of the leading nations in architecture, art and industry. The Frithiof steamship is contemporary with the grand facades of Strandvägen, Djurgårdsbron and the Nordic Museum. She was in busy service on Stockholm’s waters, and was in use as a passenger boat until the 1950s.
